A look into the future

In the spirit of sustainable mobility, the Amberg-Sulzbach district plans to take part in CITY CYCLING again next year in 2026. “We want to continue to promote citizen engagement and continually reduce CO2 emissions,” said Kopp. A registration option is available on the website stadtradeln.de, where cyclists can conveniently record their routes using GPS to record the kilometers achieved.

An important goal for local cycling planning is the targeted further development of the cycling infrastructure. Using anonymized data, problematic areas in the cycle path network are to be identified in order to achieve improvements. The “RADar!” reporting platform is also available for this purpose. available, which makes it possible to report dangerous or disturbing places. In Germany, the transport sector contributes around a fifth of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions. This shows how crucial it is to promote alternatives to automobile transport in order to achieve climate goals. The commitment to sustainable mobility, as exemplified by CITY CYCLING, gives hope and is a step in the right direction
. The need to make transport more climate-friendly is also highlighted by [bpb], which emphasizes that a transformation of the mobility industry is essential in order to achieve the set climate goals.
