Round Table Amberg donates 1,690 euros for DLRG rescue workers!
The connection between the local community and the DLRG is becoming more and more tangible. On September 3, 2025, the Round Table 69 Amberg set a nice example with a generous donation of 1,690 euros to the DLRG Amberg local association. This support is a thank you for the DLRG's tireless efforts at the fifth duck race, which has developed into a popular event in the region. Central Bavarian reports that the money will be used specifically to purchase protective suits for new helpers to ensure safety during water sports.
The DLRG was on site at the duck race with 15 committed members, two lifeboats and an informative information stand. The DLRG showed what it can do: one boat stayed on land, while the other was ready to go into the water at any time. At the stand, visitors were able to try out a resuscitation training mannequin and make buttons, which were very well received by the little visitors. The DLRG helpers were not only responsible for water safety, but also helped bring numerous sponsor ducks ashore at the finish and searched the banks of the Vils for missing ducks after the event.
Dedicated helpers and grateful partners
Stefan Fuchs, the treasurer of the Round Table, ceremoniously presented the check to the DLRG chairman Gerhard Schottenheim. This partnership is not a coincidence: the DLRG Amberg local group, which has around 400 members, consists largely of young people who are in constant training. The DLRG's valuable contribution is supported not only through donations, but also through the tireless voluntary work of its members, who save the lives of hundreds of people in Germany every year. According to information from the DLRG, the donations relate to the purchase of special equipment, boats and the basic and further training of the rescuers, who all work on a voluntary basis DLRG.
The DLRG also took on its responsibility brilliantly at the last duck race. This event was the fourth time that the DLRG provided support. Among other things, a first aid station was set up to familiarize visitors with the work of the DLRG. Those interested were also able to experience a lifeboat and diving equipment up close and even try out a puzzle for children, which promotes awareness of water safety East Bavaria courier.
The support for the DLRG is of great importance, not only for the training of rescuers, but also for the safety of all bathers in the region. Therefore, every donation is an investment in the safety and well-being of the community. Sometimes it's the small gestures that make a big difference, and in this case that spirit is reflected in the friendship between Round Table and DLRG.
