A worrying incident occurred on July 2, 2025 in Gattenhofen, a district of Steinsfeld. In the late afternoon, an unknown man photographed children bathing at a swimming area that is not officially designated as an outdoor swimming pool. Attentive parents found the man's behavior questionable and spoke to him, whereupon he immediately deleted the pictures and quickly left the area. He drove away in a car with a Dutch registration. According to local police, the man was between 35 and 45 years old and was around 1.70 to 1.80 meters tall. Interestingly, there have been no similar incidents in the region so far, which further worries local residents. This incident brings back shocking memories of another serious sexual abuse case in Ansbach. In December 2020, an eleven-year-old girl went missing after school. The mother's friend found her crying on the street and reported that an unknown man had lured her to his apartment and sexually abused her there. After extensive searches, the suspected perpetrator was arrested that same evening. The 21-year-old had lived in Germany since 2015 and had not yet commented on the allegations.
