New variety of art: compacted traces of Chunging Huang in Aschaffenburg

An exciting event is imminent: The exhibition "Digicated Traces" will be presented in the Kirchnerhaus Museum from July 5 to October 5, 2025. The Frankfurt artist Chunging Huang takes visitors into a world with their unique works that opens up new perspectives on Expressionism and classical modernism. Huang is devoted to the iconic artists of this eventful time in her "Painter’s Portrait" series of work and offers a fresh approach that is amazed.

But what makes your art so special? Huang deliberately dispenses with the representation of human figures in their portraits. Instead, she deals intensively with the picturesque handwriting of personalities such as Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Gabriele Münter and Paul Klee. Each of her works is an emotional compression that captures the essence of these artists without mapping them directly. This approach shows that Huang is less about the people themselves, but much more about their artistic work, as Weltkunst reports.

from the inspiration for creation

A total of around 100 small -format works in the format of 40 x 30 cm were created between 2016 and 2023. Memories, intuition and personal experiences during museum visits play a central role. Huang records the color, style and composition of famous works and transforms them into their own visual language. The exhibition will come up with around 30 of these unique works, which, among other things, shed light on Expressionism and the "Bridge" artist group, as well as currents of post -importism, cubism and surrealism.

The accompanying catalog offers an additional enrichment, the texts by experts like Dr. Brigitte Schad and Chunqing Huang himself contains. This gives visitors the opportunity to rediscover and interpret the art of modernity with contemporary eyes, reports the Kirchnerhaus Museum .

cultural roots of expressionism

Expressionism, which culminated as a significant style in art history at the beginning of the 20th century, was and is characterized by emotional expressiveness and a subjective perception of the world. Artists like Ernst Ludwig Kirchner , one of the main representatives of the group "Die Brücke", deal with the estrangement of the natural and changes through industrialization and urbanization. His works aroused the interest of art lovers and achieved high prices on auctions, which underlines the ongoing relevance of this style.

The exhibition "Digicated Traces" therefore offers a perfect opportunity to explore this influence of the past on the present and contemporary art. Experience how Huang’s emotional compression transforms classic works into a modern visual language and invites you to rediscover art.
