242 exciting training positions in Augsburg – A new beginning!
The new training year began in Augsburg on September 1st, and it is really a reason to be happy! A total of 242 young talents are starting the exciting world of professional life. These include 178 trainees, 23 students and 31 child care interns who will now take their first steps in the city's various training professions. Over 20 apprenticeships are offered, such as in environmental technology, swimming pools or nursing and education. Of particular interest are the newly introduced training offers, such as paid child care training in municipal daycare centers, training to become a state-certified dispatcher in the professional fire department and a dual study course in civil engineering in urban drainage.
A special highlight this year are the ten trainees from India who are starting their training as nursing specialists in Augsburg. Mayor Eva Weber was enthusiastic about welcoming these more than 200 new employees who will support the city of Augsburg as a crisis-proof employer. This is not only a benefit for the city, but also for the over 300,000 citizens whose lives are enriched by the active participation of these young talents.
Welcome to training life
The welcome day took place in the Congress at the Park, where the new trainees received comprehensive information about the advantages of training with the city. Important contacts such as the general staff council, the youth and trainee representatives as well as the equal opportunities office and representatives for the severely disabled introduced themselves. A colleague also reported on his stay abroad as part of the Up2Europe program, which gave the new trainees an exciting insight into international experiences. An interactive quiz on city administration rounded off the program and provided a lot of fun.
The city of Augsburg also relies on flexible working time models that enable an optimal work-life balance. With a clear commitment to environmental protection and social responsibility, Augsburg shows itself to be an employer with vision. Fortunately, there is even the opportunity to spend up to four weeks abroad with Erasmus+ and thus gain valuable international experience. In this way, the new trainees not only do well in their professional lives, but can also advance their personal development.
