Breithaupt's return to FCA: A new beginning under Sandro Wagner!

An exciting chapter begins at FC Augsburg: After a short loan to 1. FC Kaiserslautern, Tim Breithaupt returns to his hometown club. The 21-year-old, who became a regular player during his time in Lautern, received fewer appearances in the second half of the season, but he still has a lot of potential. Breithaupt is much more than just another talent - in the last second division season he was named Karlsruher SC (KSC)'s most valuable player. The FCA is doing good business with a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros, because there was also great interest in Breithaupt from other clubs, but he decided on Augsburg despite various offers, such as Transfer market reported.

The return to the Augsburg team represents a new start for Breithaupt under the new coach Sandro Wagner. Wagner is known for trusting young players and involving them in their projects. In order to give himself the best possible impression, Breithaupt works intensively in training and felt a boost during the friendly against TSV Gersthofen, where he contributed an assist to the 5-0 win. “I’m looking forward to Wagner’s input,” explains Breithaupt. But the competition in the central midfield is enormous: together with Jakic, Rexhbecaj, Maier and the newcomer Fellhauer, he is fighting for a place in the team.

The way to the regular place

Breithaupt, who recently took a big step in his career in Kaiserslautern, now wants to prove his skills in Augsburg. “I have a good feeling for the coming season,” he says optimistically. His contract with FCA runs until the end of June 2028, which gives a boost to his long-term planning. However, it remains to be seen whether he will receive a place in the squad, especially as the coach plans to streamline the squad and either extend or sell the contracts of Rexhbecaj and Maier. The competition is noticeable, and Breithaupt now has to show that he is the “lionheart” that the team needs.

You can see his motivation during the preparation. Breithaupt wants to take advantage of his opportunity and has already impressively demonstrated in the first training sessions and test matches that he has an overview and calmness on the ball. Maybe this is exactly the key that FC Augsburg needs to pursue higher goals again next season. Another challenge arises when looking at the other players and their form: The entire team is training hard and Breithaupt knows that he has to survive in this competition.

A new coach, new opportunities

Sandro Wagner promotes young talent and wants to create space for next generations so that Breithaupt can focus all his attention on training and test matches. “I think there is a plan for me,” he says while missing his teammates from Kaiserslautern. The anticipation of the coming challenges is clearly noticeable at Breithaupt. The competition, they say, will intensify, but he is ready to give it his all. His goal? To establish yourself in the FCA squad and help the team achieve its goals.

With comprehensive training and new self-confidence, Breithaupt feels comfortable in Augsburg. The football year is just around the corner and fans are excited about what may come. It will soon become clear whether Breithaupt will provide the necessary performance to secure his place in the FCA squad. The transfer window is open until September 1st and those responsible are keeping an eye on everything – like the Augsburger Allgemeine reported.
