New building in Ulanenpark: Family-friendly apartments for Bamberg!
Something is happening in Cologne - more precisely in the Ulanenpark. The municipal housing association Stadtbau Bamberg today gave the starting signal for a new building project with a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony. Mayor Andreas Starke and Deputy Mayor Jonas Glüsenkamp did not miss this important moment and emphasized the importance of the project. The investment sum of around 13.5 million euros is a clear sign that not only concrete is being poured here, but also a lively neighborhood is being created. The new building will include both apartments and a children's facility, which will particularly benefit families.
The first steps towards a diverse living space in Ulanenpark were initiated in 2016 on the former Glaskontor site in the Wunderburg. Since then, the area has developed into a popular place to live, with a supermarket, a park and medical infrastructure for all age groups. The construction projects to date include a residential and health center for older residents as well as condominiums and terraced houses - 24 of which have already been rented.
Details about the new building
The new building, which is being built between Magdalenenstrasse and Hedwigstrasse, closes a vacant lot and will house a modern children's facility with two crèche groups and a kindergarten on the ground floor. A total of four residential floors with 23 different condominiums will be built to serve different needs. Transport connections were also taken into account: 50 secure bicycle parking spaces are planned in the basement, while the underground car park provides parking spaces for cars, equipped with connections for wall boxes.
The planned completion of the new building is scheduled for summer 2028. This development will not only expand the living space, but also improve the care options for children in the area and thus increase the quality of life in Ulanenpark.
The Ulanenpark will certainly continue to become more attractive as a result of these measures and shows that Cologne is well on the way to meeting the needs of its citizens.
