Film music gala One Million Dreams inspires Kloster Speinshart!

On Saturday evening, a real gala full of film music took place in the picturesque Speinshart Monastery, which took visitors into the world of emotions. The event entitled “A Million Dreams” was organized by the Festival Young Artists Bayreuth choir and was very popular: several hundred music lovers gathered to enjoy this unique experience.

The event was part of the anniversary project “E:motion”, which was brought to life on the occasion of the 75th Festival of Young Artists in Bayreuth. In her introductory remarks, director Sissy Thammer emphasized the importance of the intercultural exchange of young talents from all over the world. The festival, which runs across July and August, is dedicated to promoting diversity and sustainability in the arts, and provides a platform for young musicians who are transforming Bayreuth's city center into an open-air stage.

A fascinating program

The gala program included 15 well-known film titles that both aroused emotions and demonstrated the versatility of the participants. Highlights included tracks like “A Million Dreams,” “Over the Rainbow,” and a lively ABBA medley. The almost 100-member ensemble consisted of talented musicians, including the Turkmen chamber ensemble, choirs from Greece and Romania and numerous soloists. Among them were soprano Ramona Chicidea, baritone Alexandru Moldovan and many others who made the evening an unforgettable experience.

Communication and enjoyment

Another highlight of the event was the exchange between the actors and the visitors, who met in the inner courtyard of the monastery over monastery beer and monastery secco. This communicative component is seen by many as the key to a successful festival that promotes intercultural dialogue. Appreciative donations to support the artists were welcome and benefited the further development of such projects.

The Foreign Office supports cultural programs like this to promote intercultural encounters and communication. The aim is to deepen understanding between different cultures and to convey a positive image of Germany's artistic creation. Such initiatives are important to enable cultural exchange on an equal footing and to open up new perspectives.

In this way, not only is the cultural scene in Upper Franconia enriched, but the festival of young artists in Bayreuth turns out to be an important hub for international artist networks and contributes to international understanding.
