Meyernreuth gets bus connection: Better mobility from November 10th!
From Monday, November 10th, the residents of Meyernreuth can look forward to a significant improvement in mobility: the new “Meyernreuth Ort” stop at the southern exit of the town will be ceremoniously put into operation. This long-awaited connection to the Bayreuth public utility network is a real breakthrough for residents, especially for schoolchildren, who will now be able to get to the city center more easily. In the 1970s, when Meyernreuth was incorporated, the town was already waiting for a connection to the city bus service.
Michael Steinmetz, head of transport operations at Stadtwerke Bayreuth, is pleased about the closure of this long-standing gap in the route network. The decision to create the stop was made in the urban development committee in the spring, where the requirements for this important measure were decided. An illuminated footpath was also built next to the stop to ensure that all passengers can reach the stop without any problems.
New connections for Meyernreuth
With the new line 310, there will be a connection to the city center and back twice a day from Monday. The effort to transport the students on school days will pay off: the first departure will be at 6:49 a.m. from “Meyernreuth Ort” to the central bus stop (ZOH). If you want to go home in the afternoon, you can return from ZOH at 1:05 p.m. Even attentive residents should not forget that the departure times on school days in Wolfsbach are slightly adjusted. The departure time window at the stops in Wolfsbach changes as follows:
| Stop | New time | Older time |
|---|---|---|
| Wolfsbacher Straße | 6:43 a.m | 6:48 a.m |
| Hirschbaumstrasse | 6:45 a.m | 6:51 a.m |
| Gottlieb Keim Street | 6:46 a.m | 6:52 a.m |
But that's not all: These innovations show how important it is that mobility is made accessible to everyone. Especially in a place like Meyernreuth, which had to wait a long time for its bus connection, it is an excellent example of the positive development of the infrastructure. Well, something is happening and residents finally have the opportunity to move around flexibly.
How good the connection actually is and how the first passengers will react to the new stop remains to be seen. Nevertheless, the signs are good: If you look at the historical development, the city of Bayreuth has shown a good hand here. Something is happening in the city and people can benefit from it.
