Defeat for ASV Cham: U19 clearly fails in Bayreuth!

ASV Cham's A-youth team suffered a bitter defeat last weekend. In the away game against SpVgg Bayreuth, the Cham team lost 3-0. The game got off to a furious start for the hosts: in the 4th minute there was a penalty for Bayreuth, which the players confidently converted. Hannes Blass's foul led to the early lead and shocked the Cham team, who barely found their way into the game over the course of the first half.

Although head coach Tobias Schötz motivated his team, the encounter remained a clear affair for long stretches. Bayreuth dominated the game and went into halftime with a 3-0 lead. The danger of an even higher result hovered over ASV Cham, who were unable to score any points in this match. Once again it became clear that the U15 of ASV Cham also suffered an emotional setback and is still looking for points.

A look at the U17s

A special aspect in the discussion about youth football is the reform of German youth football. This was launched to respond to the disappointing results of the DFB teams. The focus is now increasingly on fun, individual ball contact and performance-based challenges. The focus should be on the development of each individual rather than the tactical preparations for the opponent. This means that losing and winning continue to play a role in youth football, but with a different emphasis.
