Did you know that the St. Georgskirche in Neustadt near Coburg has an interesting story? The construction began in 1507 and was inaugurated in 1518. This impressive church was added to a St. Georgskirche already existing in the 14th century and includes many architectural highlights such as a nave, three altars, a pulpit and a preaching chair. Good Friday, the April 15, 1530, was particularly historic, when Martin Luther preached with a great entourage in the church. Unfortunately, the St. Georgskirche had to survive two devastating fires over the centuries, which destroyed large parts of the city and the church. The renovation work between 1985 and 1990 is all the more remarkable, in which technical innovations such as heating and an induction loop were integrated for hearing aids.
