Art after work: Inspirational conversations in the Coburg house!

Fischstraße 30, 27749 Delmenhorst, Deutschland - On July 31st, the Coburg house in Delmenhorst will be around art. The lively event "Art After Work" starts at 6 p.m., which is part of the much -discussed exhibition "Art Award Delmenhorst 2025". An exciting portfolio of young artists and their works are presented on the two floors of the house. The event invites you to chat about art in a convivial atmosphere and to discover the stories behind the exhibits.

The exhibition itself runs from June 21 to September 7, 2025 and gives insights into the work of Tomás Maglione, Vanessa Amoah Opoku and Fynn Ribbeck, which are considered the award winner of this new art prize. The art prize, which was launched in 2024, has set itself the task of offering young artists: to offer a platform in the German -speaking countries with thesis at art colleges in German -speaking countries. Price agencies are planned every two years, organized by independent juries, with the winners: in the inside a prize money of 5,000 euros each and an exhibition in the Coburg house.

The winners in focus

The winners of the first edition of the art prize bring a variety of perspectives. In his work, Tomás Maglione deals with public space and social phenomena. His video "When it burns from the inside" deals with the experiences of planespoters and stimulates thinking about political issues.

Vanessa Amoah Opoku, another winner, addresses migratory experiences and the feeling of home in her works. In her multimedia installation "Bricks and Cement Don’t Make A House", which she created together with Joy Weinberger, she uses 3D scans from real locations to reflect on her family history from Ghana.

Fynn Ribbeck specializes in the connection of video work and sculptures. His video "An Eggshell Mind" impressively conveys the life realities of schoolgirls from the 1930s and questions the influence of totalitarian systems on the individual.

a room for creative conversations

The event "Art After Work" not only offers a platform to explore these contemporary works of art, but also the space for stimulating conversations. Visitors: Inside, with cool drinks and writing impulses by master students, such as Johanne Jordan and Celina Nakphanich, can hold their thoughts on the works on display. Entry is free and prior registration is not necessary - so perfect for a relaxing Thursday evening.

The Delmenhorst Art Prize 2025 is made possible by the support of Calin Pirvu, which is funded by the Heyde Cordes Foundation, the Freundeskreis Haus Coburg e.V. and the city of Delmenhorst. An accompanying publication with texts by Linnéa Bake, Carina Bukuts and Ann Mbuti will offer information and essays for the exhibition.

It remains exciting how the young artists will present themselves: inside the exhibition. A visit to the Haus Coburg is therefore a must for all those interested in art in the region.
