Two girls were molested in the fairytale pool – this is how they reacted correctly!

On June 21, 2025, an incident occurred in the fairytale pool in Neustadt near Coburg that was intended to raise awareness about the protection of children and young people. Two underage girls, 14 and 13 years old, were inappropriately touched by a 21-year-old and a 15-year-old. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. while the girls were in the adventure pool with their friends. The 21-year-old attacked the 14-year-old on her buttocks, while shortly afterwards the 15-year-old touched the 13-year-old in a similar manner. The behavior of the perpetrators is unacceptable and shows once again how important prevention is.

However, the two girls did the right thing: They immediately informed the lifeguard, who immediately called the police. The police were quickly on site and met both the perpetrators and the affected girls and their friends. The two men now have to face criminal charges for sexual harassment and are banned from all pools in Neustadt. A good step to curb such incidents in the future In Franconia reported.

Prevention measures are urgently needed

The incidents in the fairytale pool shed light on the urgency of prevention measures against sexual abuse. The “Dare!” initiative, which was launched in 2012 by the Federal Center for Health Education and the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, aims to do exactly this. Its goal is to protect children and young people from sexual violence and to strengthen their rights. This is done through education in schools and parents' homes, although many children often do not know who to turn to when crossing borders. Information is essential here, as well bioeg determines.

A central element of the initiative is the interactive theater performance "Dare! A powerful play about feelings, boundaries and trust", which encourages children to talk about their feelings and develop an awareness of personal boundaries. Such projects promote children's self-confidence and language skills and make them aware of their own rights. After such events, there is usually an increased awareness among teachers and parents who want to better support their children.

The incidents in Neustadt are another call for everyone to work for the protection and well-being of children and young people. The more education and prevention is provided, the less chance perpetrators have of carrying out their crimes.
