Serious traffic accident in Dachau: 76-year-old injured 4 people!
Yesterday evening, November 11, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred in Dachau that injured four people. At around 6:30 p.m., a 76-year-old VW driver from Munich tried to ignore the right of way of an 18-year-old BMW driver from Dachau, which led to a collision at the junction of Daimlerstrasse and Alte Römerstrasse. Both vehicles suffered total economic loss, estimated at around 8,000 euros for the VW and 50,000 euros for the BMW. The fire brigade was deployed to secure the scene of the accident and redirect traffic.
The injured include the 76-year-old driver, who sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, and her passenger, who was also transported to hospital with minor injuries. The young BMW driver also suffered minor injuries, while his passenger was unharmed. The incident meant that the Alte Römerstrasse had to be closed for around two hours in order to carry out the accident investigation, rescue and cleaning. The person who caused the accident must expect criminal charges for negligent bodily harm, as Pfaffenhofen Today reports.
More incidents in the region
Not far away, on March 2, 2025, there was another traffic accident in Ratingen, in which a 51-year-old driver from Borken and a 63-year-old driver from Heiligenhaus collided at an intersection. The accident was caused when the 51-year-old disregarded the Heiligenhauser's right of way. There were also injuries here: the 51-year-old and the 63-year-old driver suffered minor injuries, while a 64-year-old passenger was seriously injured. All those affected had to be taken to hospital. The material damage amounts to around 38,000 euros, and the vehicles were so badly damaged that they had to be towed away. The intersection remained closed while the accident was being recorded, as described in detail in a report on Presseportal.
Causes of accidents and traffic safety
Such incidents shed light on the problem of road safety in urban areas. Collisions occur again and again, often caused by disregarding traffic rules. It remains to be hoped that increased awareness and preventative measures will reduce the number of accidents.
Well-organized transport infrastructure and awareness campaigns could help drivers become more alert and avoid risky situations. Sharing experiences and learning from previous incidents are essential steps to achieve sustainable improvements in road safety.
It remains to be seen how the situation on the roads in the Dachau area will develop. The reports clearly show that caution and attention must be the top priority on the road.
