Indoor round in Lower Bavaria: Teams fight for the last places!
Before the winter break there are the last district games in Lower Bavarian amateur football. On the weekend of November 8th and 9th, the gates to the pitches will be opened again before the jerseys have to be stowed away in the cupboard for the cold season. PNP reports that the district league teams will play for a week longer to play catch-up games. However, the focus will soon turn to the indoor season, which begins at the beginning of December for the registered teams.
So far this year, 66 teams have registered for the indoor football district championship. This is a slight decrease from last year, when 72 teams took part in the Lotto Bayern Indoor Cup. What is a little worrying is the rather weak interest in the Deggendorf district, where only five teams have so far submitted their registrations. The preliminary round is omitted here, so the final tournament will be held with the five teams. The district final is planned for January 11, 2026 in Deggendorf.
The indoor championships in the west
Things look a little better for the West: 32 participating clubs are divided regionally and have lined up for the indoor championships FuPa reports. The preliminary round events begin on November 30th in Arnstorf. Here, 10 teams in two groups will fight for a place in the final, where the three best will meet on January 11th in Dingolfing. There will also be two groups played on December 1st in Landshut, while the preliminary round will take place in Rottenburg on December 21st. Here 12 teams fight for a place in the district finals with the best four teams.
A look at the groups shows that TSV Marklkofen and Türk Gücü Dingolfing, among others, will be competing in Arnstorf. Teams like FC Ergolding and TSV Landshut-Auloh compete in Landshut. The results of the preliminary rounds are eagerly awaited as they secure tickets to the finals in Dingolfing and beyond.
Defending champions and great expectations
FC Ergolding has the say in the indoor championship. The club is the defending champion and has won the last three competitions. In the west there is also a district defending champion in the form of TuS Pfarrkirchen, who would like to defend their award. The indoor round for juniors starts on November 16th in Vilshofen, where the registration numbers are stable and top in Bavaria.
While the teams prepare for the challenges ahead, the association sees no pressure on the clubs, which may be the reason for the low participation numbers in Deggendorf. The registration deadline for the indoor championships is November 2nd - so quick action is required!
