CSD Ebersberg 2025: Together for tolerance despite insults!
On June 15, 2025, preparations for the second Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Ebersberg are in full bloom. The first CSD, which took place in 2024, has already attracted around 250 enthusiastic visitors and sent a strong signal for openness and tolerance in the region. The event is organized by a committed queer community determined not to be intimidated by hate and prejudice. This reported Mercury.
Despite the positive response from the community, there were threats and violent fantasies on social media spread by various users. The Munich public prosecutor's office opened investigations against some of these people, but stopped them because the comments were not considered specific enough. The organizers Marla (18), Vanessa (19) and Leonie (20) emphasize that they do not want to be discouraged by the hatred. What is truly remarkable is the support they receive on various platforms as they continue to fight for visibility for the rural queer community.
The CSD 2025: Everything is according to plan
The next CSD will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025 and has the motto “City – Country – Queer”. A shuttle bus from the direction of Markt Schwaben will be offered to reach even more participants. The organizers have put together a varied program that includes drag artists, bands, a poetry slam and speeches. A demonstration procession with music will also parade through the streets of Ebersberg to crown the celebrations. These details come from the South German newspaper.
To create a colorful atmosphere, a stage program will also be offered in the run-up to the parade. A route is planned that could be similar to the first CSD. Anyone interested can find out more about various clubs and initiatives at Marienplatz. Culinary highlights shouldn't be missed either, while the Ebersberg youth center AJZ opens its doors in the evening to end the day in a relaxed manner.
A strong network for the future
The organization team, which now consists of 10 to 15 active members of different ages, has set itself the goal of bundling the organization into one club in the long term. This should not only ensure a better structure, but also promote networking with other CSDs. Online meetings have already been held to attract more supporters and to strengthen social interaction.
The positive development of CSDs in Germany is remarkable: in 2023, more than 140 events were held that mobilized around four million people. The largest rally took place in Cologne and Berlin. This can also be transferred to smaller CSDs - the CSD has an important social function, especially in rural areas like Ebersberg. The daily news highlights the relevance of such events, which, in addition to celebrations, also represent political messages and speak out against the rise of homophobia and discrimination in society.
Despite the positive trends, worrying incidents cannot be ruled out. The increase in anti-queer attacks shows that the topics of tolerance and acceptance are still very relevant. It is all the more important that events like the CSD take place not only in urban areas but also in rural regions in order to send a signal against fear and hate.
