In an exciting test match, TSV Ebersberg showed that they are not intimidated by challenges. In a last meeting in the local youth stadium against a northern district league team, Ebersberg was able to pull away with a 3-2 win despite being two behinds. Coach Michael Hieber, who saw some problems in his team's performance during the game, emphasized after the game the need to correct the deficits in the transition movement. “We have to get used to the faster playing styles of our opponents,” said Hieber.
With a large squad of over 20 players, TSV Ebersberg is well positioned, even if some key players such as Marinus Pohl, Lukas Volkmann and Dominik Pries are currently missing. But the Ebersberg team were not only able to convince in the test match recently. On September 10, 2024, TSV Ebersberg won 3-1 in the Toto Cup against SV Dornach, which was leading the district league table at the time. After a goalless first half, Felix Hoppe took the lead in the 60th minute. Dornach managed to equalize, but Adi Hasancic and Thomas Grünwald secured Ebersberg's victory with two more goals. With this success, TSV Ebersberg is the last district representative in the competition and has thus secured the chance for further cup rounds.
Looking into the future
The sporting challenges lie ahead for TSV Ebersberg. The players have to prepare intensively for the upcoming duels, especially for the showdown against SV Walpertskirchen. Hieber is optimistic that the team spirit and performance will continue to improve over the course of the week. The training of the second team will also start next week, so that Ebersberg is overall well positioned to continue to be successful in amateur sport.
