Doctor network UGeF in Forchheim receives silver award from AOK!

In a ceremonial ceremony on July 9th in Nuremberg, the UGeF medical network, the company Gesundheit Franken GmbH & Co. KG from Forchheim, was awarded the “Silver rating”. The network received this honor for its above-average quality of care and is one of 32 doctor networks recognized nationwide. AOK Bayern thus recognizes the outstanding achievements in patient care, which are based on a comprehensive analysis of 15 quality aspects, such as Wiesentbote reported.

The AOK, which is considered the second strongest type of health insurance fund in Germany and has more than 20.9 million members, awarded a total of eleven silver awards and one gold award to various Bavarian doctor networks this year. The Mainarzt doctor network from Ochsenfurt plays a special role among the award-winning networks, as it has received the gold award for the sixth time and is therefore the nationwide “gold leader”. The criteria for the award come from the “Quality in Doctor Networks – Transparency with Routine Data” (QuATRo) project, which has been evaluating medical care since 2013, explains AOK Bavaria.

Focus on high-quality medical care

The QuATRo project aims to continuously improve medical care. Through individual feedback reports, participating doctors receive valuable information to optimize their treatment approaches. Particularly noteworthy are the high participation rates in preventive examinations, which in Bavaria are significantly above the national average. For example, the UGeF doctor network shows a 29% higher participation rate for Check-Up 35 and a 27% higher vaccination rate for the flu vaccination, as shown GKV network reported.

The close integration of the players in the doctor network plays a crucial role in the quality of treatment. According to Dr. Daniel Knelles, CEO of Mainarzt, believes that varied communication between general practitioners and specialists is important for optimal patient care. One aspect that promotes collaboration is the use of digital solutions such as “KIM”, which link doctors and psychotherapists with network management.

A strong network for the region

The collaboration between the AOK and the UGeF has existed for several years and brings significant benefits for those involved. This close partnership not only helps improve the quality of care, but also motivates doctors to use the large amount of data to continually adapt their treatment strategies. A total of 51 doctor networks in ten federal states are involved in the QuATRo project, 15 of which are based in Bavaria.

Overall, the award from the UGeF doctor network shows that it not only has a solid foundation, but also actively contributes to improving medical care in the Forchheim region and beyond.
