Mountain Hub Gourmet: Michelin star defended – cheers at the airport!
In the heart of Munich Airport, the “Mountain Hub Gourmet” continues to shine as a culinary beacon. The restaurant, which is located in the Hilton Munich Airport, has once again received a Michelin star. Chef Marcel Tauschek and his dedicated team celebrate this success and show that they are among the best in the industry.
Marcel Tauschek, who has been head chef since January 2023, has quickly turned the restaurant, which opened in 2020, into a hotspot for foodies. The “Mountain Hub Gourmet” received its first star in 2022. The award honors the excellent cuisine, which is based on regional and seasonal products from the Alpine region – you won’t find typical Spanish seafood such as lobster or turbot here. Guests can look forward to “alpine cuisine” that is presented fresh and varied.

A look at star cuisine in Germany
The MICHELIN Guide Germany 2025 has a total of 341 starred restaurants. The trend continues towards plant-based cuisine and sustainable practices, highlighted by Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide. Among the 282 restaurants with one star, the “Mountain Hub Gourmet” is one of the few to defend this honor in the Freising district, especially after the closure of the “Camers” in Hohenkammer Castle at the beginning of 2025.
With a total of 12 3-star restaurants, including Tohru in Munich, and 47 2-star restaurants, Germany remains one of the most important markets for haute cuisine in Europe. In 2025, some new highlights à la “Loumi” in Berlin-Kreuzberg were listed among the new 1-star restaurants.
The “Mountain Hub Gourmet” remains an integral part of Munich’s culinary landscape and offers an incomparable experience for everyone who appreciates good food. We can't wait to see what the future holds for Marcel Tauschek's team!
