Wild traffic bully: Police shoot after escaping on the A92!
On Wednesday evening, a 41-year-old pickup driver caused a stir in the Freising district. The man had been moving in serpentine lines on the A92 motorway towards Munich, which alerted attentive witnesses. They reported the dangerous driving style, whereupon the police tried to stop the vehicle at the Eching-Ost junction at around 9.30 p.m. But the driver refused to be stopped and fled at high speed.
The rapid escape led over the A92 motorway to the Unterschleissheim junction before the driver turned onto the B13 federal road and then onto the FS6 district road. In Allershausen the situation became dramatic when the driver approached a checkpoint with a roadblock. Despite warnings and shots from police officers, the man continued to flee undeterred.
Finally an accident
Ultimately, the wild ride came to an abrupt end: the driver had an accident in a roundabout near Freising-Vötting. Fortunately, the 41-year-old was uninjured but was taken into police custody. An alcohol test carried out showed a level of 1.2 per mille, which explains his risky driving style. The Erding police have now called on all witnesses to the trip to call 08122/9680 to further clarify the incident.
More parallel incidents
When it comes to dangerous driving behavior, it is clear that such incidents are by no means isolated cases. On March 12th, a 26-year-old man in a Mercedes Sprinter was observed ignoring a red light while driving a caravan and forcing another driver to slam on the brakes. This incident happened on the A861 and only ended when the sprinter was stopped shortly before Schwörstadt. Here too, the police are looking for more witnesses to clarify the circumstances, as such reckless driving endangers not only themselves, but also other road users suedkurier.de reported.
Such incidents clearly show how important it is to act prudently on the road. The police are urging caution and calling for suspected cases to be reported immediately so that safety can be restored on the roads and future tragic accidents avoided.
