The weekend promises a good mood and musical joy! On Sunday, July 20th at 5 p.m., the Grafenau town band to an entertaining concert in the picturesque Bäreal in Grafenau. In bright summer weather, visitors can look forward to a varied program. The weather forecast predicts pure sunshine – an ideal setting for an atmospheric outdoor event.
Before the concert, guests have the opportunity to stock up on refreshing drinks and freshly made popcorn. The town band presents both traditional and modern interpretations of Bavarian-Bohemian brass music. It gets particularly exciting when the band's young musicians perform a fresh march and a selection of well-known film music. During the break, the city band's support association provides snacks and drinks - no one goes hungry!

Admission to this concert is free, but donations are welcome. Every contribution helps to support the wonderful work of the town band and maintain the tradition of brass music in Grafenau. It has been committed for over two decades Brass music working group in the Freyung-Grafenau district, which was founded in 1984, for the preservation and promotion of brass bands in the district. This initiative not only focuses on training and promoting youth, but is also a mouthpiece for the interests of the brass bands.
The city band is also not an association, but is supported directly by the city of Grafenau. This facilitates community building and exchange among musicians, who always welcome new talent.
Community and engagement
If you have a good knack for music or just want to get a taste of it, you can take part in the city band's rehearsals without obligation. There is room for new musicians, whether beginners or those returning to music. From choosing the right instrument to arranging teachers, the city band is available to provide advice and support.
