New parents' council elected at the Perlesreut elementary and middle school!
On November 1, 2025, the first parents' evening of the new school year took place at the Perlesreut elementary and middle school. Deputy headmaster Christian Löwe and around 130 parents welcomed those present to the gymnasium and gave an overview of the current situation at the school. An important point on the agenda was the introduction of the new members of the parents' council, who represent the interests of parents.
The first chairman of the parents' council, Josef Lindbüchl, insisted on sharing the activities of the past school year. Both the parents' council's income and expenses were discussed. Headmaster Johann Friedl thanked the parent councils and class parent representatives for their commitment and informed them about planned events for the current year.
New elections and new faces
Important new elections were also held at the meeting. Josef Lindbüchl was once again impressively elected as the first chairman of the parents' council. Benjamin Selwitschka is new in the role of deputy. Birgit Schreck was also elected as secretary, while Lisa Wimmer resumed her position as treasurer. The parents' council continues to be made up of committed members, including Karin Brandl, Christa Graf, Daniela Thoma, Claudia Lippl, Stefanie Maurer, Reinhold Stockinger, Martina Eberl and Katrin Bauer.
These members are not only responsible for their classes, they are also actively involved in school life. The parents' council generally represents all parents at the school and has a say in important decisions, even if it does not have any real rights to have a say in the school organization. These details are clearly outlined on the website bayerisches-schulrecht.de, which also points out that cooperation between the parents' council and the school can take place in different forms - sometimes harmonious, sometimes conflictual.
The role of the parent council
Did you know that the parents' association is not an association, but an organ of the school? As can be read on the km.bayern.de platform, the parents' association has various rights, including information and suggestion rights towards the school management. Parents can contact a member of the parent council at any time to seek support or to find solutions to upcoming problems together. Communication between teachers and parents remains essential, especially in the event of disagreements.
The tasks of the parent association are varied and include holding events for parents and the opportunity to address the behavior of individual teachers when it affects parents. This is particularly important because many parents want to be actively involved in the school community and be informed about their children's concerns through regular communication.
The parents' council is therefore an indispensable part of school life at the Perlesreut primary and secondary school, whose commitment has a positive influence on the school community. The new elections and the exchange about past and future initiatives show once again that this form of participation is very popular for many parents.
