Fürstenfeldbruck opens school sports facilities: a paradise for kids!

In Fürstenfeldbruck there is a happy new beginning for those who enjoy exercise among children and young people. From now on, primary and secondary schools will open their play and sports facilities on weekends after they were previously closed. How Mercury reported, the students can now use the facilities at the North School, located on Theodor-Heuss-Straße, under supervision. This initiative is based on an application from the Bruck Citizens' Association (BBV) and aims to offer children and young people more opportunities for exercise in public spaces.

The concept for using the school space was developed in collaboration with the then principal Bettina Jungtorius and her team. The pilot test, which runs from May to October 2025, uses the opening hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Young people gain access via the entrance on Konrad-Adenauer-Straße, directly next to the bicycle parking spaces, which ensures easy accessibility.

A responsible approach

The city administration hopes that users will behave cautiously in order to avoid vandalism. Garbage cans have been set up to support this, and a company is responsible for opening and closing the facilities and checking them. However, the areas remain closed during the holidays as they are used by both after-school care and holiday care services. An evaluation of the pilot test is planned for mid-October, which should provide information about whether it is possible to expand it to other schools in Fürstenfeldbruck.

But it's not just the new school facilities that offer space for playing and moving around. How spielplaetze.co highlights, Fürstenfeldbruck has a variety of playgrounds to offer. These are spread throughout the city and range from adventure playgrounds to water playgrounds with pumps. This means children can experience nature everywhere and live out their urge to move.

Scope for the future

The issue of scope is very important in Germany. The initiative to renovate, supplement or redesign playgrounds is supported by various programs, such as dkhw.de informed. The aim is to create play spaces that are public and accessible to all children and young people. A creative environment is created through the active participation of children and meaningful play elements that stimulate the imagination.

These efforts show that the city of Fürstenfeldbruck is committed to the needs of its young citizens. Access to play and sports facilities on weekends as well as the existing playgrounds offer active children and young people a greater variety of options. Now we can only hope that the new offers are not only well received, but also used responsibly.
