Construction work is causing massive traffic disruptions on the A 95 and B 318!
Construction work has begun on two central traffic arteries in Bavaria, which will have an impact on road traffic until July 18th. From June 30th, the A 95 in the direction of Garmisch-Partenkirchen was completely closed, affecting many commuters and travelers. This closure covers the section from the Murnau/Kochel junction to Eschenlohe and starts at 7 a.m. on Monday. As an alternative, traffic is redirected via the B2. Anyone regularly using this route should expect significant delays over the next few days. Mercury reports on these necessary measures to improve transport routes.
But it's not just the A 95 that is affected. The B 318, which is being renovated on a section of around 750 meters southwest of Warngau, will also be in focus in the next few weeks. The renovation of the B 318 also begins on June 30th and includes a partial closure with traffic light regulations until July 18th. One of the main objectives of this work is to remove around 10 cm of the old roadway and install around 1,500 tonnes of new asphalt.
Planned closures and diversions
The night-time work on the B 318 will be particularly affected by the traffic situation, leading to a complete closure between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. from July 7th to 11th. During this time, drivers will be rerouted via the local transport network. The construction work on the B 318 is scheduled to be completed on July 18th, weather permitting. State Ministry of Housing, Construction and Transport has already pointed out that weather conditions may lead to delays.
In total, the Free State of Bavaria is investing around 320,000 euros in these infrastructure measures, which not only serve to ensure the safety of road users, but also benefit the long-term traffic situation in the Miesbach district.
The responsible authorities ask all road users to understand the sudden traffic disruptions that will occur during the construction period. If you are on the road, you should plan a little more time and pay attention to the detour routes. The renovation will have an impact on the traffic situation, but it is necessary to make the roads fit for the coming years.
