Circus Alaska delights families in Riedhausen – a festival for children!

What's going on in Riedhausen? A lot, because that Circus Alaska has pitched its tents and is bringing a colorful program for young and old. A good week after the start of the holidays, the small town in the Günzburg district becomes the scene of artistic highlights and entertaining clown numbers that make family hearts beat faster.

Circus Alaska is no stranger to the circus scene. Founded in 1980, the circus is one of the oldest still existing ensembles in Germany and over the years has achieved a renowned place in the performing arts landscape. Under the direction of “Nicki”, the circus boss, the team not only impresses with professional performances, but also with a family atmosphere. Visitors are considered part of the circus family, which is what makes this circus so special.

The current program is specifically tailored to children and their companions. An extensive collection of documents on the history of circus and variety shows has been collected and preserved here for 60 years. The inventory ranges from the first poster to old programs and can not only be used for research purposes, but also offers valuable information for exhibitions and publications.

With around 10,000 comprehensive books, over 25,000 photos and a large selection of circus program booklets from around 50 countries, the archive has a lot to offer to keep the tradition and fascination of circus art alive. Visitors are warmly invited to immerse themselves in the world of the circus, and use of the archive is even free by appointment.
