Burglaries and threats: Police warn of increasing crime!

A look at recent incidents in the region shows that the security situation is not rosemary blue. There was a break-in at an allotment garden on Rodacher Strasse, during which several tools were stolen. When the Coburg police station began the investigation, it was clear that the wheat had to be separated from the chaff - tips are welcome on 09561/645-0, as [Wiesentbote] reports.

But things are getting tricky not only in the garden sheds, but also elsewhere in Coburg. A 27-year-old Romanian was checked as he left the train station and was caught with an unloaded blank gun, five blank cartridges and a switchblade. The man was unable to produce a firearms license, which prompted the police to seize the items and file a report under the Weapons Act.

Thefts and burglaries

The list of break-ins and thefts never ends. A cellar compartment on Casimirstrasse was broken into, where a drill worth around 100 euros was stolen. Bicycle theft is also very popular: a red Kellys Pedelec, whose value is estimated at around 1,000 euros, disappeared in the Kronach communal cellar. Anyone who has seen anything should contact the police in Kronach on 09261/5030.

Whether stealing bicycles or violently reaching into cellar compartments, the perpetrators often use dangerous means. When stealing with weapons, protecting the loot by carrying weapons or dangerous tools is extremely punishable: up to ten years' imprisonment is at stake, as [Juraforum] highlights.

Threats and road safety

Internal security is also threatened by threats with so-called “PTP weapons”. An incident at the Thurnau truck stop shows this impressively: During an argument, one of those involved pulled out a pistol, which later turned out to be deceptively real. Such incidents should not be neglected, as, according to the [BKA], there has been a continuous increase in threats with firearms since 2021.

But things are also less harmless in road traffic. A joyride by a 20-year-old man who was driving without a driver's license and with an alcohol level of 0.9 per mille also ended with damage worth around 10,000 euros after he collided with a parked car.

The situation requires a vigilant community and decisive police action. Because while the security is appreciated by many, the perpetrators don't seem to be completely on guard. Anyone who observes something or has information should not be afraid to contact the police.
