In the picturesque Teuschnitz, a town in the Franconian forest, a very special event awaits visitors these days: the herb garden of the Arnika Academy will be transformed into a wonderful light landscape. From August 24th to September 1st, 2023, reports np-coburg, the garden shines in a play of colors that will captivate both young and old guests.
Mayor Frank Jakob opened the Shining Herb Garden last Saturday evening. During a week, light objects, including colorful butterflies and delicate dragonflies, are cleverly placed between herbs and bushes. The large heart, which was specially designed for the event, is also a scary sight. The bright trees and the attractively decorated apple trellis also give the garden a distinctive flair.
A garden full of diversity
The herb garden in Teuschnitz is not only a visitor magnet because of its illumination. With an area of around 3,000 square meters, it is a place of biodiversity and a challenge for all the senses. The crafts and culture highlights that the garden is designed in a modern, low-maintenance style that focuses on the needs of the plants. Here visitors will find numerous scents, colors and structures that invite you to marvel and linger.
In the background are the principles of the Arnika Academy, which aims to promote knowledge about well-being and health. Enjoy the peace and quiet in the Teuschnitz Aue, which is known for its high biodiversity, and let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of the sandstone houses in the city.
An experience for all senses
Looking back on the previous event in 2024, the garden attracted numerous people with over 5,000 visitors from surrounding districts teuschnitz.de. The illumination was designed by the company Sound-Lighttec, and a similar concept will be pursued this year. There are entertaining highlights every day, consisting of a fire & light show called “Lumine Ignis” as well as performances by live bands such as Tasteful, Revolution and Chaplin XL.
The culinary offering is also impressive: from hearty snacks to tasty snacks to special evenings such as the vegan evening, various culinary delights are on offer. The Teuschnitz Arnica Association and numerous volunteers make a valuable contribution to the hospitality of visitors.
Thanks to the support of sponsors such as Sparkasse Kulmbach-Kronach and VR Bank Oberfranken Mitte eG, the event is made possible and its future secured. The outlook for the “Luminous Herb Garden 2025” is already increasing anticipation for the next edition.
A visit to Teuschnitz is a real experience not only because of the light displays, but also the combination of nature, art and cuisine shows how diverse the region is and what importance the herb garden has for the community.
