Accident escape in Kulmbach: Police are urgently looking for witnesses!
On Friday, November 9, 2025, an incident occurred in the parking lot of a sports store on Albert-Ruckdeschel-Strasse that once again highlights the problem of hit-and-run accidents. Between 10:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., a vehicle owner discovered that her blue BMW with Lichtenfels license plate had grazed damage on the passenger side when she returned. Shockingly, the person who caused the accident did not take care of the damage and left the scene of the accident without reporting or informing the police. The Kulmbach police station then started an investigation into unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident and is urgently looking for witnesses who can provide information about the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kulmbach police station on 09221 / 609-0. [Bayreuther Tagblatt].
A similar incident recently occurred in the Edeka Am Goldenen Feld parking lot. Here, an unknown driver damaged the front area of a silver Audi A3 and left behind the estimated damage of around 1,000 euros. Fortunately, the incident was witnessed by two women who contacted the police. One of the witnesses reported the incident at the supermarket's information desk, while the other was parked in a silver Golf right next to the damaged Audi. These two women are also urgently asked to contact the police in Kulmbach again to help solve the case. According to Frankenpost, it is important that such incidents do not go unnoticed.
Hit and run is not a trivial offense
The issues of hit-and-run accidents and traffic violations remain complex and urgent in Germany. According to a publication by Statista on May 13, 2025, between 2009 and 2024 there were a significant number of entries in the driving fitness register due to hit-and-run in road traffic accidents with personal injuries. These figures make it clear that such incidents should be taken seriously and those responsible should be held accountable. [Statista](https://de.statista.com/statistics/data/study/1056312/umfrage/zahl-der-unfallfluechtigen-bei-unfaellen-mit-personal Schaden-in-deutschland/) offers interesting insights into the problem here.
The police urgently appeal to all road users: In the event of an accident, it is not only morally but also legally required to report or inform the police. Every piece of information, no matter how small, can help hold the irresponsible accountable. Raising awareness and making such incidents transparent is the first step towards a safer traffic environment.
