On November 9, 2025, the German national team celebrated a glorious victory at the Germany Cup in Landshut. The team defeated Slovakia 3-0 to secure their eleventh title in the history of the competition. The goals were scored by Parker Tuomie in the 11th minute, Bennet Roßmy in the 12th minute and Fabio Wagner in the 23rd minute. In front of 3,333 spectators, captain Moritz Müller accepted the trophy from Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder. This victory was not only a triumphant conclusion to an important tournament, but also a first dress rehearsal for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
It was an exciting tournament for the DEB selection, which previously won 4-1 against Latvia and unfortunately lost 2-5 against Austria. In order to win the title, the direct comparison with the Slovaks was crucial, which the team dominated with a solid performance.
Milano Cortina 2026 in sight
The Winter Olympics in Milano and Cortina are already in the starting blocks. In view of the clear victory in the Germany Cup, the German team has gained a lot of self-confidence. The first six players in the preliminary squad have already been announced and the first preliminary round match will take place on February 12, 2026 against Denmark. A total of 12 countries will take part in the men's tournament, while the gold medal game is scheduled for February 22, 2026. This first participation by NHL players since 2014, when the Games were held in Sochi, promises added excitement and high competition.
