Stolen trailer discovered in forest – police looking for witnesses!
In the last few days, the police in the Main-Spessart district have registered several criminal incidents that indicate a worrying level of theft and property damage. Among other things, a stolen car trailer was rediscovered and cable thefts were committed.
A step in the right direction: A car trailer bearing the inscription “Klinikum Main-Spessart” was found on November 2nd in a forest between Unterwittbach and Kreuzwertheim. The trailer was stolen from the parking lot at the old clinic on Baumhofstrasse on October 31st, with unknown perpetrators breaking the locks to steal the loot. The police suspect that the trailer may have been used to dispose of scrap and are asking witnesses who noticed anything unusual between October 31st and November 2nd to contact the Marktheidenfeld police station on 09391/9841-0.
Cable theft and property damage
Another incident occurred early Sunday morning in Marktheidenfeld, where at least two masked perpetrators stole copper cables from a printing company around 3:30 a.m. The damage to the loot is estimated at 500 euros. Here too, the investigators depend on clues. Witnesses can also call 09391/9841-0.
In addition, a parked black Dacia jogger in Zellingen was vandalized. The damage occurred between Monday, 7:50 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. In Arnstein, between Friday, 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, 5:00 p.m., three garage doors in a warehouse on Hohlenweg were broken. In both cases, the police are investigating property damage. Information can be given to the Karlstadt police station on 09353/9741-0.
Keep an eye on the situation
Current events are part of a larger trend. According to current statistics, there were around 5.63 million crimes in Germany in 2022, with thefts making up a significant part of them. In the same year, around 1.78 million police-recorded thefts were recorded - an increase compared to previous years. The numbers on residential burglaries are particularly alarming, reaching over 23,500 cases in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2022, which accounts for more than 35% of all cases in the federal states. The clearance rate for vehicle thefts was 31.1%, while that for residential burglaries was only 16.1%. Such statistics shine a light on the challenges police face as they try to protect communities from crime.
This makes it all the more important for citizens to be vigilant and report suspicious activities immediately. The police structures rely on the support of the population in order to counteract the increase in crimes. With this in mind: Stay vigilant and help!
