DJK Memmingen celebrates great success at the German Championships 2025!
At the 2025 international German championships in lawn power sports, which recently took place in Wasserburg, the DJK Memmingen athletes showed excellent performances. Sandro Koinzer exceeded all expectations and broke the 22-year-old Bavarian record in stone throwing with an impressive distance of 10.60 meters. In doing so, he also secured the German championship title in stone throwing. In the hammer throw he threw a remarkable 53.98 meters and in the weight throw (12.5 kg) he reached 22.61 meters. With 2,630 points, Koinzer took second place overall, which earned him a silver medal. His sister Verena Koinzer also did well by finishing 8th in the women's class with 1,845 points. Her performances included 31.91 meters in the hammer throw, 16.23 meters in the weight throw (5 kg) and 8.38 meters in the stone put (5 kg). [Merkur].
The DJK Memmingen athletes were not the only ones who presented themselves excellently in Wasserburg. The TV Thaleischweiler team was also able to boast spectacular performances. Jana Rohr, a 25-year-old pharmaceutical technical assistant, threw her stone to an impressive 11.39 meters and thus won one of the two German championship titles in stone throwing for her club. In addition to her, her teammates such as Peter Fremgen, Ann-Sophie Becker, Leo Wirth and Gerhard Müller also contributed to the impressive total of eight medals, including three bronze medals Rheinpfalz.
The judges and outlook for 2026
The competitions were led by a competent team of judges, including Nico Kehrle, Anja Kehrle, Franziska Karg and Nele Pistner from Memmingen. Their expertise ensured that the athletes were able to compete under fair conditions and that the competitions ran smoothly.
A special highlight for the region will be the upcoming German Championship in Lawn Power Sports 2026, which will take place in Memmingen. This will certainly be another highlight in the event calendar that many athletes and spectators can look forward to DRTV.
