FC Bayern Ü45 thrilled at charity game in Memmingen: 29,000 euros collected!

On Saturday, October 26, 2025, there was a lot going on in the Memminger Arena: a charity game between the over-45s of FC Bayern Munich and the “All-Stars” of FC Memmingen attracted over 600 spectators. The event was not only a sporting highlight, but also a significant contribution to supporting children and young people with disabilities. The proceeds of an impressive 29,000 euros will be distributed, among other things, to the projects “Kicken für Kinder” and “Team Banana Flank Memmingen”, which are committed to the inclusion of young people, reported Mercury.

In the run-up to the game, the FCM family financed over 30,000 euros in donations and mobilizations through partners such as VR-Bank Memmingen and Sparkasse Schwaben-Bodensee. The initiators, led by Alireza Assobar, had set themselves the goal of strengthening the community and creating a platform for inclusion. The preliminary program included two exciting matches between the teams of “Team Banana Flank”, which ended with a close 5:4, in which even Mayor Jan Rothenbacher played a role as goalkeeper.

The big appearance of the legends

The main game between Bayern and the FCM “All-Stars” offered a varied and exciting encounter. Bayern started strong, but Memmingen pushed themselves and took the lead in the 39th minute before FC Bayern equalized just before half-time. “We really fought and never gave up,” said Frank Maier, who scored the decisive goal to make it 5-4 in the 84th minute, after the game.

The encounter was not only sporting, but also emotional. Players like Carmen Höfflin and Dr. Nicole Kalemba from Bayern showed that legends can also be on the pitch for a good cause. In the end, the fans were happy to have personal encounters with the active players, who were available for autographs and photos after the final whistle.

Donations and encounters in focus

A highlight of the event was the handover of checks for a total of 14,500 euros to the “Team Banana Flank” and “Kicken für Kinder” by Alireza Assobar. These amounts send a strong signal of support for children and youth projects. Particularly noteworthy was the sum of 850 euros that was raised through the auction of a signed Jamal Musiala jersey. Such actions are important to promote both sporting and social interaction, according to the initiator.

With a colorful range of activities for the little visitors - from bouncy castles to football darts - there was something to be happy for everyone. Prominent guests such as Felix Magath and Michael Henke contributed to the festive atmosphere and made it clear that sporting solidarity exists and is lived across generations, added FC Memmingen.

Overall, the charity game was a complete success. It not only showed how important such events are for the community, but also that enjoyment of sport and social responsibility can go hand in hand. Everyone involved once again realized: It's worth fighting for a good cause!
