FC Memmingen secures a draw against Greuther Fürth: tension until the final minute!
On October 2nd, 2025 there was an exciting football match in Memmingen in which FC Memmingen and the U23 of SpVgg Greuther Fürth ended in a 1-1 draw. With a crowd of 610 fans in the stadium, the atmosphere for both teams was, at best, cheering. Both teams showed their ambition right from the start, and Memmingen had some promising chances to win the game in the first few minutes.
A header came from Memmingen's player in the second minute and just five minutes later Pascal Maier had the opportunity to take an early lead with a shot. But in the 17th minute it was Greuther Fürth who took the lead with a goal from Imeri. This lead was a wake-up call for Memmingen - Günes hit the crossbar just four minutes later, a sign that the team was hanging on.
Tension until the final minute
The FCM goalkeeper Dewein showed himself to be a real support for his team, parrying several dangerous shots from Fürth, including one from Fabian Lutz in the 32nd minute and one from Nollenberger shortly before half-time. In the second half the game became even more exciting. Barbera equalized in the 55th minute with his first touch of the ball and sent the Memmingen fans into ecstasy.
The referee's decision in the 59th minute caused astonishment; A penalty-worthy foul on Maier went unpunished, but just a minute later Fürth was awarded a penalty. However, Dewein was there and parried it brilliantly. In the 73rd minute there was a great defensive action from Fürth, who fended off another goal on the line. In the 88th minute, Memmingen had one last chance, but it could not be used.
