First Communion in the Upper Leitzachtal: A celebration for the little ones!

The wonderful celebrations for the first Holy Communion in the Oberes Leitzachtal parish association recently took place in Elbach, Bayrischzell and Fischbachau. With the inviting motto “Come here and eat!” the children reached the climax of their preparation in a celebratory setting. The parish of St. Andreas in Elbach was the first venue where the young believers moved into the ceremoniously decorated churches together with their families.

The churches were filled to capacity and the atmosphere was characterized by a special dignity. Music bands accompanied the children's entry, which was accompanied by a mix of sunshine and pouring rain. These colorful changes in the weather only seemed to increase the children's anticipation and joy.

The first communion children in detail

The following children were particularly celebrated in Elbach: Lina Auer, Helena Bichler, Quirin Fichtner, Laura Gruber, Romy Hagnberger, Katharina Harraßer, Helene Heiß, Kilian Hieke, Magdalena Käsbauer, Marina Kreidl, Josef Lechner, Katharina Maier, Lorenz Mayr, Marinus Meyer, Florian Schmid, Josefa Schweinsteiger and Martin Stahl. The table mothers who prepared this festive occasion were Barbara Bichler, Katharina Fichtner, Barbara Lechner, Stefanie Mayr and Christina Stahl.

In Bayrischzell, the first communion children Rosalie Acher, Margaretha Bleier, Lorenz Lettenbichler, Xaver Resch, Ferdinand Schleicher, Lukas Storr, Olivia Thaler and Bruno Urbaniak were ceremoniously welcomed into the community. Here too, the table mothers Regina Bleier and Marlene Resch ensured a successful festive setting.

Fischbachau joined the celebrations with children Matthias Bauer, Benedikt Bichler, Dominic Fink, Leonie Gasteiger, Leonard Kühnl, Giuseppe Landro, Sophia Mayer, Lidwina Schönauer, Lena Seehofer, Leon Seemüller, Apollonia Storr, Philomena Storr, Lukas Unterrainer, Nora Wagner and Valerie Wolf. The table mothers, who made a decisive contribution to the success of the celebration with their care and consideration, were Claudia Bichler, Christina Fink, Monika Gasteiger, Sarah Mayer and Hedwig Schönauer.

A look back at the solemn service

The celebration of the first Holy Communion began, as it should, with the entry into the church and a song sung by the faithful. This festive moment was accompanied by prayers that reflected the theme of the day and readings from the Old and New Testaments. The sermon explained the biblical texts and connected them to the life of the congregation today. The confession of faith formed the solid framework of the service, followed by intercessions in which people prayed for peace, healing and blessing for all people

.

After communion, a thanksgiving service continued during which the gifts were blessed. This small ceremony gave celebrants the opportunity to express their gratitude and strengthen the community of believers, adding an additional, moving touch to the day. These festive occasions not only strengthen faith, but also togetherness in the community.

Thus, the First Holy Communion will be remembered not only as an important sacramental event for the children, but also as a solemn occasion of community and joy.
