Morning show on Bayern 1: Hits from the 80s and stories for everyone!
The early risers in Bavaria can look forward to a special radio program today. On June 25, 2025 from 5:05 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. BAYERN 1 will broadcast under the direction of Marcus Fahn, which has since brought a kick of freshness into the morning. The show offers an exciting mix of the biggest hits of the 80s, entertaining stories and current information from the region.
Marcus Fahn has also made a name for himself beyond the program. The presenter, who grew up in Langenzenn in Middle Franconia, began his career in 1992 at the local station Radio Downtown in Erlangen and has since held numerous positions. He took his first steps as a presenter on October 4, 1992 and gained experience at Radio Energy and Radio Gong in Nuremberg. During his time at Antenne Bayern from 1997 to 1999, he completed a traineeship and later worked as a presenter and editor. Over the years, Fahn has covered explosive issues such as the terrorist attacks in Madrid in 2004 as a reporter for NDR and WDR before moving to BAYERN 1 in 2014.
The shipment in detail
The program is clearly structured: The special highlight starts at 5:10 a.m. with “Fahn’s special morning number”. At 5:30 a.m. there are the news headlines and at 5:56 a.m. Fahn shares his thoughts on the day. The most important information from the region is presented every hour at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. The comedy stars aren't left out either, so there will be a comedy session with Wolfgang Krebs at 7:50 a.m. under the motto “The Super Bavarians”, which is intended to keep the listeners entertained. The morning program ends with the final question from Fahn at 8:50 a.m.
What is particularly worth noting is that the latest news is provided every 30 minutes. In addition, listeners can not only follow this program live on the radio, but also listen to it as a podcast. BAYERN 1 broadcasts the program on five VHF station groups in Bavaria, including Upper Bavaria, Lower Bavaria/Upper Palatinate, Middle and Upper Franconia, Main Franconia and Swabia.
Cultural responsibility of Bayerischer Rundfunk
The Bavarian Radio Historical Archive not only plays an important role in documenting the history of broadcasting, but also fulfills an important cultural and educational mission. It secures, organizes, researches and evaluates everything that has been connected to broadcasting in Bavaria since 1922 and offers valuable resources for research. This archive, which can be found at Rundfunkplatz 1, 80335 Munich, offers a variety of support services for interested parties and students and is open on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The archive is committed, among other things, to the conception and organization of exhibitions on the program history of Bavarian Radio, as well as to the provision of written source material for journalistic purposes.
With the combination of nostalgic music, current topics and a pinch of humor, the BAYERN 1 morning show with Marcus Fahn offers an ideal start to the day for many listeners in Bavaria - and beyond.
