Attention, Swabians! DWD warns of frost, slippery conditions and thick fog!

This Monday morning there are several forests to watch out for in Swabia and the neighboring districts: The German Weather Service (DWD) not only warns of slippery conditions and frost, but also of significant fog. This warning applies to all districts in Bavaria where visibility can drop to less than 150 meters. The districts of Donau-Ries, Dillingen an der Donau, Neu-Ulm, Günzburg, as well as the cities and districts of Augsburg, Aichach-Friedberg and Neuburg-Schrobenhausen are particularly affected. Many drivers have to prepare for slippery roads and adapt their driving behavior accordingly in order to reach their destination safely.

The current weather report from wetterfähren.de shows that the cold, dry continental air from Eastern Europe is blowing over Germany. By mid-morning, light to moderate frost between 0 and -7 degrees can occur in many regions. Only along the Lower Rhine, in the southwest, in eastern Saxony and on the coast does it remain frost-free. Next night there is a risk of temperatures of 0 to -5 degrees in the northwest half, while up to -12 degrees can be expected in the southeast half - especially in the Bavarian Forest and near the Alps.

Safety recommendations

It is therefore advisable to take anti-freeze measures to avoid possible frost damage. The risk of ice is mainly in the west and south, where freezing fog creates additional risks. Visibility will remain cloudy and foggy in the south throughout the day, although conditions will only improve slowly. Further thickening of fog is expected next night, particularly in the southern and southwestern regions, but also in isolated cases in the northwest.

In addition, stormy gusts of between 50 and 70 km/h are to be expected in the Saxon mountains. In the Erzgebirge, even stronger gusts of up to 85 km/h must be expected, which will subside particularly in the afternoon and evening. In the Bavarian low mountain range, however, the wind will remain stiff to stormy until the evening.

Current warnings

Wetteronline.de informs that the severe weather warnings for Germany are constantly updated and cover a variety of dangers, from lightning strikes and flooding to storm damage and slippery conditions. This helps to prepare the population as best as possible for the respective dangers. At the moment, the necessary measures are particularly important in order to safely meet the whims of winter.

So anyone who goes out on the road should be warned and prepared. There is no mercy when it comes to the weather - and especially today, special caution is required.
