German Challenge: Golf action and exciting duels at the Wittelsbach Golf Club!

Things are about to get really exciting in the picturesque setting of the Wittelsbach Golf Club: The German Challenge is just around the corner! From July 16th to 19th, 2025, a squad of 156 golfers will take the stage and fight for victory on this challenging course, which is known for its high tree cover. The Pro-Am tournament was already held with great enthusiasm on Wednesday, despite some rain interruptions, reports Danube Courier.

Potato salad or golf? Why not both! The golf club, which is located near the A9 between Munich and Nuremberg, with its many trees and natural courses not only offers a great backdrop for the players, but also for the spectators, who can be very close to the action. The Munich golfers can look forward to an exciting event.

Attractive theme days and special participants

The German Challenge not only offers golf at the highest level, but also an attractive supporting program under the motto “Good Vibes”. The tournament opens on Thursday with the sports day, followed by the VcG Players Night on Friday. The sundowner will take place on Saturday and the sporting finale will take place on Sunday with the award ceremony, which will be celebrated around 4:15 p.m.

Competition is definitely guaranteed: Maximilian Steinlechner, currently number one on the “Road to Mallorca”, is considered the favorite. He will be challenged by Santiago Tarrio, returning after three seasons, and the experienced Félix Mory. Among the 13 German golfers taking part in the tournament are Anton Albers, Tiger Christensen, who comes with a breath of fresh air from a successful season result, and Max Schmitt, who has already done well in previous tournaments at the Wittelsbach Golf Club.

Practical information for viewers

For everyone who wants to experience the action live: The first tee-off for the professionals takes place at 7:25 a.m. on Thursday and Friday and at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. And remember to be considerate of the players, because there's really a lot at stake here!

A special feature is the collaboration between tournament director Christian Schunck and the association of club-free golfers, which continues to exist despite the main sponsor's withdrawal. This underlines the openness of the event and offers everyone interested in golf the opportunity to be there first hand.

In summary: The German Challenge promises an exciting weekend with first-class golf, a colorful supporting program and the opportunity to take part in one of the most beautiful golf clubs in Germany. Be there and enjoy the atmosphere at the Wittelsbacher Golf Club, which is part of the DGV environmental program Golf&Natur, where water management and CO2 footprint are important topics. The golf club team, led by managing director Korbinian Kofler and project manager Tanja Papp, has a good knack for making this event a highlight of the year.
