The 51st Büchlberg Folk Festival took place at the weekend and it was once again a very special experience. This festival has long since gained a permanent place in social life in the market town. Scores of locals and holidaymakers flocked to take part in the colorful parade that filled the streets on Sunday. The start of the festival was musically accompanied on Friday by the Zillertal band “Höllawind”, which heated up the mood right from the start.
The traditional parade led from the church over the town hall to the festival tent, led by the renowned Büchlberg brass band, followed by the Ulrichsbläser and a brewery team from Hutthurm. This year too, participation in traditional costume was an integral part, and many participants showed with colorful signs and in a good mood that community and joy are very important at the folk festival.
Program highlights and culinary delights
In the festival tent itself, visitors were offered a hearty lunch with Bavarian specialties. The sounds of the Büchlberg brass band ensured that the tent quickly filled up. Mayor Josef Hasenöhrl took the time to thank the many helpers and political guests of honor who contributed to the success of the festival.
The seniors' afternoon, which took place from 1 p.m. and offered the older citizens a snack and a sociable time, was also particularly well prepared. There were reduced prices for the smaller festival visitors on the children's afternoon so that even the youngest guests could have fun. The highlight of the evening was the camaraderie evening from 6 p.m., which was accompanied by music from the “Herzbuam” band.
The Büchlberg folk festival is worth a visit. With a colorful program, lots of music and the typical Bavarian cosiness, it attracts guests from near and far. Whether at the traditional pageant or in the festival tent, the focus is on joy and togetherness and show that tradition and community are really lived here.
