Successful autumn festival in Passau: weather and attractions in focus!
The Passau Autumn Dult, which takes place from September 5th to 14th, is once again captivating visitors this year. Despite the changeable weather, which ranges from bright sunshine to short rain showers, the Fieranten draw a positive interim conclusion. Gerald Kasbauer, the Karlstetter festival host, emphasizes the satisfaction with how the Dult went. “The weather was better than last fall,” said Kasbauer.
The variety of attractions is particularly well received. The shooting gallery, popular soft toys and the trendy hearts ensure a large crowd, especially on sunny days. “When the weather is nice, more visitors come,” says Sonja Kollmann, who runs the shooting range.
A festival with tradition
The Passauer Dult is one of the largest folk festivals in Eastern Bavaria and is therefore an integral part of the cultural calendar. A wide range of rides and fair fun is offered in the Kohlbruck Exhibition Park, where the Dultstadl with almost 9,000 seats and the beer tents with a further 6,000 seats can also be found. “Here we have both the latest attractions and popular classics,” emphasizes the Dult event page.
The Dult not only offers entertainment, but also culinary delights. The typical Dult dishes are a must, and numerous stalls offer dry stuff. The event is so popular that advance reservations are recommended.
Highlights of the autumn festival
The girls' evening in the Karlstetter festival tent deserves special mention, with three talented gentlemen on stage providing the best entertainment. Helene Frieß, the “Baumstriezeltaunt”, has been selling sweet pastries since 2013 and, despite the rainy days, is satisfied with the progress so far. “People still come, and that’s the main thing,” she says happily.
Adolf Sonntag, operator of the bumper car, is also satisfied, but appeals to drivers to keep local prices moderate. “It should be affordable for everyone,” he advocates, reflecting the desire of many visitors to use full wallets for a social experience.
With the last few holidays in sight, the anticipation of a successful weekend is palpable. The Passauer Herbstdult offers happy togetherness, countless attractions and the typical delights. An end to the festival season that is unparalleled in this form. The entire offer can be viewed at passauer-dult.de.
