On Friday evening, November 8, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on the A94 near Schwindkirchen, which resulted in six minor injuries. As Merkur reports, the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. when a 40-year-old driver from Luxembourg switched from the right to the left lane in her Skoda Fabia. She overlooked an approaching 22-year-old from Munich who was driving a BMW. The collision was unavoidable and the BMW was thrown against the center sliding wall after the impact, while the Skoda rolled over and came to rest on its passenger side.
The Sankt Wolfgang fire department immediately took over the security of the accident site, ensured fire protection and contained any leaking liquids. Despite the dramatic situation, the injured did not require medical care on site. However, both vehicles were no longer drivable and had to be towed away. The damage estimate is around 40,000 euros for the BMW, 10,000 euros for the Skoda and 25,000 euros for the guardrail.
Traffic disruptions and rescue work
As a result, the A94 in the direction of Passau was completely closed for around 45 minutes between the Dorfen junction and the accident site. Traffic had to be slowly diverted over the hard shoulder. After about two and a half hours, the rescue work was completed and both lanes were reopened. The Erding district fire inspection, the rescue service, an emergency doctor and the Mühldorf motorway police were also on duty.
