CSU relies on women's power: 25% of the places for strong female candidates!

The political landscape in the region is gaining momentum, especially with a view to the upcoming local elections on March 8, 2026. District administrator candidate Andreas Aichele presented his agenda at the V-Home in Schweitenkirchen. How Danube Courier reported, the CSU's list of candidates was approved unanimously with 104 votes. A striking detail is that 16 out of 60 places on the list are reserved for women - a positive sign of equality in politics.

Aichele, who speaks of the CSU's strong will and positive energy, not only wants to run for one legislative term, but plans to remain in office until 2046. “We want to act as an enabler and introduce laws to improve the lives of citizens,” emphasizes district chairman Karl Straub. In second place on the CSU list is Silvia Hartmann, a lawyer who is running as candidate for mayor of Ernsgaden. Other women on the list are Gabi Breitmoser (5th place), Victoria Görlitz (9th place), Franziska Winter (13th place) and Birgid Neumayr (19th place).

Challenges for women in politics

Although the proportion of women on the CSU candidate list is promising, women's political participation in Germany remains a challenge. daily news reports that women are often underrepresented in city councils and district councils. The hurdles for female political hopefuls are high, and young women often feel like foreign bodies in politics and are not taken seriously.

The political scientist Helga Lukoschat advocates for better representation and addressing of women in local politics. This is particularly important since two thirds of the elected representatives are over 50 years old and the proportion of those under 30 is only 5.3 percent. Young women, like Caroline Werner from North Rhine-Westphalia, are committed to issues such as environmental protection and safe transport routes and are advocating a stronger voice in the political arena.

Positions and concerns of the new candidates

The CSU candidates show that women's political engagement is also on the rise locally. Aichele wants to create a positive working environment in the district office and addresses the challenges of migration. In combination with the political will to promote women, new perspectives arise for the coming legislative period.

The social discussion about gender and gender roles is further fueled by such initiatives. How Wikipedia explains, the term “woman” is a central part of our society, and her political participation is crucial for the development and shaping of our communities.

Overall, it can be said that the fresh wind in local politics also offers new opportunities. Women are an important part of this transition and are making a significant contribution to the future of our communities. With a strong proportion of women in the ranks of the CSU, it shows that the potential exists to sustainably change the political landscape.
