A strange incident on the A94 last Saturday not only caused a traffic accident, but also led to the arrest of a 21-year-old Romanian who was wanted. As the Pnp.de reported, the incident occurred in the construction site area of ​​the motorway near Marktl in the Altötting district.

At around 8 a.m. the man drove his van from Simbach towards Marktl. In the construction site, where a solid auxiliary line as well as warning beacons and indications of a “road narrowed on one side” were clearly visible, he mistakenly mistook a gap between the warning beacons for a regular lane. This misunderstanding had fatal consequences.

Accident and consequences

When the 21-year-old realized his mistake, he stopped abruptly and reversed without paying attention to the traffic behind him. A 34-year-old woman from Munich, who was driving behind him in her VW Caddy, tried in vain to draw attention to herself by honking her horn several times. The van ultimately crashed into the rear of the VW and caused damage worth around 4,000 euros.

The police who were called to the scene of the accident quickly discovered that the 21-year-old was not only involved in the accident, but was also wanted in two cases. The Mühldorf motorway police then arrested him.

The A94, which was only completed after decades of construction work, connects Munich and Passau and is intended to relieve the busy B12.
