A serious traffic accident occurred on Friday evening, November 7th, 2025, on federal highway 588 near Wurmannsquick in the Rottal-Inn district. A 20-year-old driver crossed into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons, causing a serious collision that resulted in a total of eleven injuries. Of the injured, five people were seriously affected and six were slightly affected. Over 70 emergency services, including five ambulances, four emergency doctors and around 60 firefighters, were on site to manage the situation and transport the injured to nearby hospitals. The police have started investigating the cause of the accident.

An investigation report by n-tv shows that the material damage caused by the collision is estimated at around 170,000 euros. The B588 remained closed for around three and a half hours, causing significant traffic delays.
