Medal of Merit for Bad Birnbach's Josef Hasenberger and Ludwig Brunner
In this day and age, it is more important than ever to honor the people who serve their communities. Recently, two outstanding personalities in the Rottal-Inn district were awarded the Municipal medal of merit in bronze awarded: Josef Hasenberger, the former mayor of Bad Birnbach, and Ludwig Brunner, the long-time second mayor of Malgersdorf. At a celebratory event, District President Rainer Haslbeck presented the medals and recognized the achievements of the two local politicians.
The award of the Municipal Medal of Merit is a special award that has been awarded by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior since 1966. It is awarded to people who have particularly distinguished themselves through long-standing and meritorious work in local voluntary work. The medal is awarded in different levels - gold, silver and bronze - and is intended to underline the importance of community engagement, such as Wikipedia explained.
Commitment to the homeland
Josef Hasenberger has served in various positions for over 20 years, starting as a member of the Bad Birnbach market town council until his appointment as mayor, a position he held for 12 years. Under his leadership, numerous projects were launched that significantly influenced the economic growth of his community. Special mention should be made of the Golfblick settlement and the creation of a development area in Hirschbach as well as the establishment of shopping markets, which increased the attractiveness of Bad Birnbach.
Ludwig Brunner, who was active on the Malgersdorf local council for over 35 years, brought valuable experience and specialist knowledge to his work. He was the second mayor for almost two decades and, as a youth representative, he also looked after the needs of the younger generation in his community. In addition to his political commitment, he also worked as bandmaster of the local brass band and as director of the choir, which shows how diverse Brunner's contribution to local politics was.
Appreciation and awards
The award of the municipal medal of merit is not only a recognition of personal commitment, but also reflects the cohesion and democracy in the region, as Haslbeck emphasized in his speech. The medal itself is not a medal in the traditional sense; Rather, it is intended to be an appreciation of the many years of service in local self-government.
The medals presented and the associated certificate not only give the notables the appreciation they deserve, but also set an example of how important local commitment is for the well-being of the community. The honorable word about the medal emphasizes that voluntary activities build on a strong foundation of society.
A total of 13 personalities from Lower Bavaria were honored at the award ceremony, who had made a special contribution to their homeland through their work and commitment. This recognition is a welcome reminder of how important individual commitment is to a vibrant and healthy village community.
