Mike's Pizza opens in Schwandorf: A new treat for the city!

A culinary novelty has spread to a remarkable location in Schwandorf. Mike’s Pizza recently opened in the former Kirndorfer building, which once housed a waffle shop and a food bank. The official inauguration took place last Friday, high above city life, and Pastor Christian Kalis gave the restaurant his blessing with holy water. Mayor Andreas Feller (CSU) wished the operator Hedayat Arabzoda and his brother much success and at the same time addressed the high demand for lunch in the city center. According to mittelbayerische.de, Mike's Pizza is already one of the 15 branches that can be found throughout Bavaria, with additional locations in larger cities such as Munich and Regensburg.

A real new beginning for Arabzoda

Hedayat Arabzoda, who at the age of 25 has an interesting story to tell, came to Germany from Afghanistan in 2015. After a real commute of 1.5 hours from Deggendorf to Schwandorf, Arabzoda now wants to put deeper roots together with his brother. They are currently actively looking for an apartment in Schwandorf so they can finally settle down. The new pizza restaurant's offering includes not only pizza, but also burgers, pasta, finger food, salads and desserts. A real culinary delight has come to the city, with something for every taste.

A piece of Bavarian history

The pizza has had a long and historic journey in Bavaria. The first pizzeria in Germany was opened in Würzburg in 1952 by Nicolino di Camillo and quickly attracted the curious looks of US soldiers who were already familiar with the Italian specialty. Professor Gunther Hirschfelder emphasizes that pizza began its triumph in Bavaria in a traditional way. Today it is an integral part of Bavarian food culture, which values simplicity and enjoyment. Restaurants like 65-year-old Carmelo Ferrara's pizzeria in Weilheim are living witnesses to this development, with Ferrara known for its handmade pizza. His passion for high-quality ingredients and the art of pizza baking remains unchanged, even if times have changed (merkur.de).

Mike’s Pizza not only fits into the Bavarian pizza culture, it also brings a breath of fresh air into Schwandorf’s gastronomic scene. The combination of tradition, a passionate team and a varied menu makes guests' hearts beat faster.
