Georg Lang: Start the Hauenstein mountain race with Patzi!
When the sounds of engines echo over the hills of the Rhön, fans can look forward to an exciting new chapter in mountain racing. Georg Lang, the talented mountain racer from Schweinfurt, brings a breath of fresh air into the scene. After selling his Formula Renault, Lang is taking the next step in the mountain DM with a new sports car, a Pedrazza Lang sports car. The premiere is imminent, as the new racer will be used for the first time at the Hauenstein hill climb next weekend. According to a report by Mountain Championship The idea for this project came about three years ago at Lang, and the anticipation of the first trips is palpable.
The heart of Georg's new vehicle is a PRC FPR, equipped with a powerful VW turbo engine that, with its 1,150 cubic centimeters and 400 hp, pushes onto the track like an irrepressible tomboy. In order to keep costs under control, Georg and his father Uwe consciously decided against a larger model. “We put a lot of passion into this project,” says Georg Lang. The realization was a challenge that was made possible by years of personal effort and a five-figure sum Mainfranken News describes.
Community and innovation
Collaboration with various partners has also played a central role. Electronic components were supplied by the company TME, while the production of carbon parts was supported by Edenhofer Motorsport. Steffen Tille from TME also supports the team with his knowledge of turbo technology. “Teamwork makes us strong,” emphasizes Lang. Support also came from Pasquale Nole, Manuel Ottenbruch and Krisam Motorsport, who made a significant contribution to the production of the vehicle components.
Georg Lang has already gained initial experience with the new car. He recently completed a test under racing conditions at the mountain race in La Roche en Ardenne, where he completed a total of five runs, including two training runs and three race runs. In doing so, he gained confidence in the possibilities of the PRC and is excited about the challenges ahead in Germany. Things will be particularly exciting in Hauenstein, where he will compete in the two-liter class against opponents like Michael Bodenmüller and Thomas Conrad.
Focus on experience
The strategy for the 2025 season is clear: it is primarily about learning and gaining experience. Lang set his goal realistically. “We don’t have any big ambitions, we just want to get better.” He is optimistic about the future and has great expectations of the performance of his new PRC. The new Turbo is now called “Patzi” and, in addition to the latest technology, also offers a lot of fun on the track.
The vehicle community in hill racing has always been strongly networked. In Austria, vehicles are divided into different performance classes based on a power factor (PF), which will also be important for our mountain races. Loud Austria Motorsport The application of this regulation is planned for category 2 vehicles from the 2025 season.
The coming weeks promise exciting races and passionate motorsport. When Georg Lang competes in Hausen (Rhön) with his new sports car, the entire hillclimb community will follow the development with excitement and keep their fingers crossed - because one thing is certain: a real project with a lot of passion has been developed here!
