The anticipation in the 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 camp is great, because the new season in the 3rd league starts in a few weeks. On the first matchday, which takes place on August 2nd and 3rd, the Schnüdel from Schweinfurt will be hunting for points in an away game against Viktoria Köln. This reports FuPa. The first home game of the season will take place between August 8th and 10th against FC Energie Cottbus.
The people of Schweinfurt are currently starting the season under the motto “Screwing and filing”. Head coach Victor Kleinhenz is satisfied with the first ten days of preparation and particularly emphasizes the team dynamics. He is sure that the following test matches will be the first real benchmark for the team. In the coming weeks there will be four more weeks of preparation in which the players can show what they can do.
Test match double pack in Cologne
In the first week of preparation, the Schweinfurters have two test games on the program on Friday and Saturday: on July 5th against Rot-Weiß Erfurt and on July 6th against FC Carl Zeiss Jena. The entire squad is available for these test matches, and Kleinhenz expects that his protégés will master the current challenges well. “These are the tests where we can see where we stand,” said Kleinhenz about the upcoming games.
The team can already look forward to exciting encounters. Last week the Schnüdel already played against TSV Grettstadt and VfB Eichstätt. The results are more than impressive: 14:0 in Grettstadt and a clear 5:1 win against Eichstätt on June 29th. These successes show that the players are on the right path. By the way, the DFB has published the entire schedule for the 3rd league, which, among other things, begins with a highlight: On August 1st, Rot-Weiss Essen opens the match day against TSV 1860 Munich, as on kicker is to be read.
Preparations are in full swing and the Schnüdels show that they are heading in the right direction. The tasks that lie ahead are both a challenge and an opportunity. It remains to be seen whether they will find themselves in the upper reaches of the 3rd division at the end of the season. In any case, 1.
