In the picturesque setting of Feldafing, July 2025 will be a very special month for music lovers. The extraordinary pianist and composer Kit Armstrong will demonstrate his talent at this year's Music Days. This music event, which is taking place for the twelfth time this year, promises to be an experience in a class of its own. Merkur reports that the music days are organized by the Association of Friends of the Feldafing Music Days and are under the artistic direction of Armstrong and the violinist Franziska Hölscher.
The event will once again take place in the Church of St. Peter and Paul. This church, which is over 600 years old, is not only characterized by its neo-Romanesque design, but also offers excellent acoustics that ensure an unforgettable sound experience. It's no wonder that top-class artists like Daniel Müller-Schott and Lars Vogt have been on this stage since 2014. The Feldafing Music Days website mentions that the concerts are even recorded by Bayerischer Rundfunk due to their high quality.
A child prodigy on stage
Kit Armstrong, a musical prodigy, will set a special highlight in 2025. The recently published biography “Kit Armstrong – Metamorphoses of a Child Prodigy” by Inge Kloepfer sheds light on his remarkable career. Armstrong, who was born in Los Angeles, began learning the basic rules of arithmetic at the age of 15 months and was able to read by the age of three. By the time he was five, he had finally completed all of the high school math material and developed his own melodies.
His journey took him to London at the age of twelve, where he deepened his piano playing and composition at the Academy of Music. Professor Dr. Axel Spring discovered him there and took him to a competition in Schweinfurt, which he sensationally won. Alfred Brendel described him as the greatest musical talent he had ever met, underlining the high expectations placed on the upcoming performances.

The Feldafing Music Days offer a varied program:
- 17. Juli: Werke französischer Komponisten, mit dem Quatuor Arod.
- 18. Juli: Oboenkonzerte mit Ramón Ortega Quero und Sopranistin Chelsea Zurflüh.
- 19. Juli: Musikalischer Abend mit Hanna-Elisabeth Müller und Pianistin Juliane Ruf – ausschließlich Robert Schumann gewidmet.
- 20. Juli: Improvisationen zwischen Jazz und Klassik mit Kit Armstrong und Jazzpianist Michael Wollny.
It is particularly exciting that Armstrong will also premiere a composition for soprano, violin and piano. The ticket prices are quite reasonable at 35 to 45 euros (students 10 euros) for the musical performances and can be purchased via the Musiktage Feldafing website. There is already a waiting list for the concert on July 20th, but the first three concerts are still open to ticket buyers.
