Little piano miracle: Louis Zhang delights Starnberg with Mozart and Bach!

The nine-year-old piano virtuoso Louis Zhang showed his extraordinary talent in a rousing concert in the Schlossberghalle Starnberg. Together with the renowned “German String Philharmonic” under the direction of Wolfgang Hentrich, he thrilled the 250 listeners with impressive performances. The fruitful collaboration between the young pianist and the youth orchestra began a year and a half ago, and the progress cannot be overlooked. Mayor Patrick Janik and Rupert Steigenberger gave warm speeches at the beginning of the evening, which gave the event additional shine.

The “German String Philharmonic”, which brings together the youngest talents aged 12 to 19, regularly performs in international concert halls, including the Cologne Philharmonic and the Golden Hall of the Vienna Music Association. With their last appearance in Lüdenscheid and other upcoming concerts, they underline their high status in the classical music scene. These young musicians have not only taken part in important festivals such as the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival, but have also worked together with virtuosos such as Julia Fischer. A true talent factory!

Impressive performances and promotion of talent

The concert program included works by Mozart, Bach and Tchaikovsky. In particular, Louis Zhang's performance of Bach's Piano Concerto in A major without sheet music was an absolute highlight - he thrilled the audience confidently and convincingly. The “Divertimento” KV 136 by Mozart and the “String Serenade” Op. 48 by Tchaikovsky complemented the demanding program and ensured harmonious interplay between the strings and singers of the Philharmonic.

The audience was overwhelmed, and as a special token of appreciation, the talented pianist was presented with a large cuddly bear as a lucky charm. At the end, Louis Zhang gave an additional short piece that captivated the audience. After the positive applause that followed, it was clear: this was a future star of classical music.

Future performances and the path of the talent

Louis Zhang, who received his first piano lessons from Viera Fischer at the age of four, is developing extremely promisingly. Next he will perform “Klassik für Kinder” in the Aufkirchen parish hall on July 27th, bringing his musical talent closer to other young listeners. It remains exciting to see where the journey will lead for this extraordinary piano player talent.
