Cult summer in Traunstein: Free music enjoyment in the town square!
This year, the cult summer in Traunstein brings a breath of fresh air to the city and provides musical highlights in the open air. From June 24th to September 9th, 2025, locals and guests can enjoy varied concerts on the town square in Traunstein. How Samerberger News reported that events take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening and can be attended free of charge. Entry is therefore open to everyone who appreciates good music and a sociable atmosphere.
The official opening will take place on June 24th at 7 p.m. by Mayor Dr. Christian Hümmer, immediately followed by a musical prelude organized by the Traunstein Town Music, the Traunwalchen Brass Band and the Surberg-Lauter Music Band. From 8 p.m., the Michael Alf Trio will provide rousing jazz, boogie and blues sounds and is a highlight of the first evening. Music lovers shouldn't miss the first evening of the cult summer!
The varied program
The program items in the following weeks offer something for every taste. On Tuesdays, traditional brass music will be played from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., while on Wednesdays between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. a colorful mix of music will be served, ranging from classic rock to Austropop. The Thursday evenings are all about jazz, blues and rock'n'roll, also from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m active.live confirmed.
A special treat is the Italian night on July 27th, which has the motto “La Dolce Vita”. Here the town square is transformed into a piece of Bella Italia, where not only live music delights visitors, but also Mediterranean delicacies and a Vespa meeting with a shared ride. An experience for young and old!
Weather and special regulations
Of course, the events only take place in dry weather. In order to be informed quickly, we recommend keeping an eye on the Kultsommer website and social media to find out about any weather-related cancellations. The town square will be kept car-free in the evenings on event days, which contributes to a relaxed atmosphere. Residents and businesses can apply for permits at the public order office in order to still be able to park their vehicles.
